Saugerties Wellness Center is the first facility in Ulster County to practice integrated medical care. "Integrated medical care" blends modern western medical practice with traditional healing methods (such as acupuncture, chiropractic, massage, yoga and herbal therapy) to promote wellness. The medical director of the center, Dr. Ramaswami is board certified in Family practice by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is assisted by Family Nurse Practitioner Marie de la Parte, R.N., M.S.N., F.N.P. Both have been providing medical care to residents of all ages in the Saugerties Community for many years. In addition, he is certified in Medical Acupuncture by the Amercan Academy of Medical Acupuncture. In addition, Family Nurse Practitioner Kate Mahar, R.N., M.S.N., A.N.P is on staff to provide care both in our office and to make home visits. The alternative provider who works in the center includes acupuncturist Charles LaBarre,L.Ac.
We accept patients with a variety of problems including fibromyalgia, lyme disease, chronic fatigue, PMS, menopause and other female disorders, chronic pain, side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, fatigue, diabetes, heart disease, eating disorders, spinal stenosis, nicotine addiction, immune and auto-immune disorders and many other illnesses for a comprehensive and integrated approach to medical care. We also see patients for wellness screening and physical exams as well as sick visits. We accept most major insurances including Medicare, Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, The Empire Plan, CDPHP, MVP, Fidelis, Blue Shield of NENY and Cigna.
