What is botox?
Botox is a protein that is injected into muscles to relax them.

What is Botox used for?
Botox is used for the treatment of wrinkles in the forehead, ‘frown lines’ and ‘crow’s feet’ around the side of the eyes. It has also used to manage migraine headaches, back /neck spasms and excessive underarm sweating.

Are the injections painful?
Generally the injections have minimum discomfort. At Saugerties Wellness Center we also use a cream on the skin to further reduce the discomfort.

How soon do they work?
Generally results start to be seen in a few days to 2 weeks.

How long do they last?
The effects of the injections last several months.

Are there any major side effects?
Generally there are no side effects since the quantity injected for cosmetic purposes is very small.

Is it very expensive?
